PRESIDENT - IFUNA

Justice Shambhu Nath (Retd.) Allahabad High Court and Former Lokayukt, Chhattisgarh and Chairman – IFUNA. He was Enrolled as an Advocate in Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh on 1st November 1968. He was Practiced as Lawyer at Allahabad High Court from 1st November 1968 to 13th February 2002. He was Appointed / engaged as Senior Standing Council Govt. of India for Allahabad High Court and also in-charge of entire Litigation of Union of India in Allahabad High Court except Income Tax and Railway from 01.06.1998 up to 13.02.2002. He is L.L.B (2 Years course) in 1968 from Allahabad University

Achievements as an Advocate
A - Elected as Member of Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh for five years in the year 1994 by advocates of entire Uttar Pradesh.
Was re-elected thereafter for another five year and continued up to 013.02.2002 as Member of Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh.
During membership of State Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh elected as Chairman, Executive Committee three times in different years.
B - Worked as Chairman of Enrollment Committee and Disciplinary Committee of State Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh during the entire period as Member of Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh.
C - Worked as co-opted member of the Appellate Disciplinary Committee of Bar Council of India in 1998.
As a Member / Chairman of Appellate Disciplinary Committee heard and decided out of several appeals, a disciplinary appeal of Col. Bhawani Singh against Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India, Shri Nani Palkiwala (since dead), sitting at Bombay, another member of Appellate Disciplinary Committee was Shri Arun Mishra, Advocate (then Chairman, Bar Council of India) at present Honourable Judge of Supreme Court of India.
He was Elevated as Permanent Judge of Allahabad High Court and took oath on 14th February 2002.
Date of Superannuation as Judge of Allahabad High Court on 4th September 2007.

• Government of Uttarakhand appointed as Chairman of a Committee to submit a report whether Human Rights Commission in Uttarakhand may be constituted. On the report of undersigned as Chairman of aforesaid committee, Uttarakhand Human Rights Commission was established in the State of Uttarakhand.
• Chairman State Police Complaint Authority, Uttarakhand from 11th September 2008 to 10th September 2011.
• Chairman of the Special Enquiry Commission appointed by State of Uttarakhand to enquire into charges of corruption of certain public servants of Govt. of Uttarakhand up to 1st March 2012.
• Took oath as Pramukh Lokayukta of Chhattisgarh on 21st August 2013 up to 27 August 2018.
• Worked as Arbitrator appointed by Oil and Natural Gas Commission, Dehradun.

Important Judgments

Bhagwad Gita is Rashtriya Dharm Granth under Constitution of India and it is the duty of every citizen of India of any caste, creed or religion to follow it. Shyamal Ranjan Mukherjee vs. Nirmal Ranjan Mukherjee on 30.08.2007.
Revenue Judicial service to adjudicate title of agricultural land in Uttar Pradesh. The Executive Officers are not competent to decide title of agriculture land; Chandrabhan vs. State of Uttar Pradesh.
Pond, Talab, Pokhar and other water bodies more than 58600 were stored by the order of Justice Shmbhu Nath in Uttar Pradesh and a permanent forum was created to re-store all water bodies illegally occupied though were existing on the date of vesting 01.07.1952; Iqbal Ahmad vs. State of Uttar Pradesh.
Moral education was made compulsory subject of 50 marks in Board exams of High School and Intermediate in Uttar Pradesh.
Associated with Indian Federation of UN Associations for more than a decade, participated in various programmes of IFUNA including Executive Committee of World Federation of UN Associations held in New Delhi in which more than 25 countries participated.

Secretary General - IFUNA

Sh. Suresh Srivastava is the Secretary General of Indian Federation of United Nations Associations. He is the Vice-Chair of World Federation of United Nations Associations Geneva, Switzerland. He was a Student Leader, President of Students Union, Delhi University, and former President of United Nations Students Association of India. He is a practicing Lawyer in Delhi High Court. He was President of Tax Bar Association, Delhi. He was Standing Counsel in Delhi High Court of NCT, Delhi and Senior Standing Counsel of Central Government in Delhi High Court. He has organized various seminars, symposia, workshop and conferences on various National and International issues. He has been contributing Articles in various News Magazines and News Papers on Law, Human Rights, Peace and Development. He has been appearing regularly in Electronic Media, National Channels in the programs for Legal Advice and program relevant on social and current issues..
